So I just saw The Giver at my local theater and my immediate first thought of the movie was it was half like the book. Most questions were left unanswered so the movie supposedly tried to answer most of the questions. I would have left the unanswered questions unanswered but some people don't like unanswered questions. You look at some of the new movies based on books and some are faithful to their book and some aren't. You take Mockingjay, for instance, the other two movies were pretty faithful to the books. The director of the Hunger Games is Gary Ross, Francis Lawrence has taken charge for the finishing movies. They were both faithful to the book. You look at Percy Jackson, Chris Columbus and Thor Freudenthal did those movies directed those movies and fans like me are thinking: what the happened?! This comparison gives me evidence that the movie quality depends on the director. The Giver's director was 60% loyal to the book. Thanks for tuning in and I'll see you soon!!
